Hello!
My name is Diana. I created Atelier VerLuz in 2017 with an action to sell paintings and help women with cancer. We are now in 2023, the ground values of our creative space, that being philanthropy and creativity, are stronger than ever. With every vernissage, with different groups of artists, we give a percentage to a local cancer research prevention institution.
My Story
I was born and raised in Brazil. I moved to Switzerland for my studies in the year of 2000. I had the opportunity to live in different countries such as Spain, France, England and even in the Maldives. Yes, I lived there for 6 months during an internship back in 2004, the year of the Tsunami. I cannot consider myself a survivor of this natural disaster because the Maldives were not hit as hard as other countries, but let's say that I was at the right place, at the right time.
I did not study Fine Arts, that is something I inherited from my mother and grandmother, who were both artists. The name VerLuz comes from the way my mother (Vera Lúcia) signed her paintings and it also means " see the light" in Portuguese. I was in Paris for seven years and during this time, I studied Consulting and Coaching for Chance at INSEAD. That is when I also created Atelier VerLuz because in parallel with my course, I took painting classes at the Atelier des Beaux Arts de Paris. I am now living in Brazil, between the cities of São Paulo and Campo Grande, where I live with my husband, who is also an artist/photographer. We have a cat named Babu, and a dog named Jolie. It is also where I spend my time painting.
